Pop up Report: CSU and members win ISL annual awards! 04.26.07 |
Congratulation to CSU for winning the Outstanding Coffee Hour Award (for presenting the mostdynamic and engaging Coffee Hour through decorations, food, and cultural presentations) and the New Student Support Award (For going above and beyond their responsibility to help new students with the adjustment process to the U.S.A and UGA) in the ISL Annual Award Banquet! CSU wins the Outstanding Coffee Hour Award for our outstanding culture presentation in the coffee hour of "Back to Childhood" subject. We presented Chinese culture of children's games and paper crafts by displaying boards about children games and paper crafts. We presented delicate paper folding and cutting crafts. We organized short lesson to teach people how to fold paper craft. We also presented how to dance with rubber elastics(ÌøÆ¤½î). People attending showed great interest. CSU wins New Student support Award due to our effort for arranging picking up, temporary housing and other support to our new students in the adjustment precess to USA and UGA. Huanyao Gao wins the Outstanding Graduated Student Award not only because his outstanding commitment and leadership in CSU, but also because his actively involving in ISL activities of street festival and faculty and staff training for international students teaching. He successfully lead CSU to host Spring Festival, coffee hour, which won the 2006-2007 Outstanding Coffee Hour Award, and participating ISL international street festival. He attended the faculty and staff training twice and helped some faculty and staff to understand the way to communicate with international students. He participated the planning committee and made prominent contributions in the advertising, fund raising precess before the festival and the stage and equipments setting up during the international street festival. Cogratulation to Qiangjia (Judy) Zhong (ÖÓǾ¼Ñ) for winning the Outstanding First Year Award (For going above and beyond to help develop the continued success within the group and generate vision and enthusiasm for future activities) Qiangjia (Judy) Zhong wins the Outstanding First Year Award because her continuously participation in ISL activities including Tax Assistant program, international street festival, etc. She participated the planning committee and make prominent contributions in the advertising, fund raising precess before the festival and the stage and equipments setting up during the international street festival. She also actively participated activities hosted by CSU, like Moon Festival, Spring Festival and coffee hour and played an unreplaceable roles. As a freshman of UGA, she showed great enthusiasm and won successes in the activities of ISL as well as CSU. |
